Our Larger Family – Norbar is now a member of the Snap-on Incorporated family of companies and is proud to be part of a company which has beliefs, values and a vision closely aligned with those that Norbar was founded on.
Norbar is pleased to welcome the addition of Fastorq to our family of companies. Fastorq is a company created in 1981 to manufacture and market the inventions of George A. Sturtevant, a pioneer in the field of industrial bolting. Fastorq’s innovative tools are a perfect complement to Norbar’s already extensive range of torque controlled tools and torque measurement products allowing us to offer our customers one of the widest ranges of bolting solutions and flange management products on the market.
How Norbar Came to Australia
In 1964 British speedster, Donald Campbell, travelled to Lake Eyre in South Australia to set a new land-speed record. While there he met David Wall, an engineering supplier based in Adelaide. One of Campbell’s team mechanics suggested that David should sell the Norbar products in Australia and David acted on this idea and introduced Norbar products to the Australian market. David later partnered with Leigh Packer who, along with his family, has continued to take Norbar’s brand name from strength to strength in the Australasian region with Norbar branches being added in NSW, QLD, Victoria, WA, New Zealand and Singapore.
