BSI Quality Assurance Registration Q6228
Norbar’s quality assurance system has been certified to internationally recognised standards for more than a decade. The MOD’s AQAP 4 was awarded in the mid 1980’s, followed by BS 5750 Part 2 in 1989, and culminating in ISO 9001 in 1995. More importantly, through continuous improvement, Norbar is dedicated to making quality more than just a word, but a way of life.
COMPLIANCE WITH EUROPEAN DIRECTIVES
As a major supplier of torque equipment throughout Europe, Norbar has ensured compliance for it’s products which fall within the scope of the European Product Safety Directives. (Specifically the Machinery; the Low Voltage; and the EMC Directives.) Norbar has also invested in its own EMC test laboratory to ensure timely development of new product and the continued compliance of existing items.
UKAS Accredited Calibrations
Accredited Calibration Laboratory No. 0256
Norbar was the first torque equipment manufacturer to have an in-house UKAS calibration laboratory and continues to offer the most comprehensive service available. The laboratory can calibrate most makes of torque wrench, torque multiplier and torque testing device within the range 0.05 N·m and 6800 N·m within the UKAS scope and upto 100000 N·m with traceable certification.
NIST TRACEABILITY
The measurements performed under Norbar's UKAS accreditation are traceable to the same international standards of length and mass that are used at NIST. There is therefore a traceability from UKAS to NIST and this is implied in the UKAS certificate issued with Norbar products. For customers requiring an American laboratory certificate Norbar USA can offer NIST traceability using factory-equivalent calibration equipment.
NATA CALIBRATIONS
Whilst the main manufacturing site in England has a UKAS accredited torque calibration laboratory, the recalibration and repair of torque measurement devices can also be performed in Australia.
Our NATA accredited laboratory works to ISO 17025:2005, and can calibrate up to 5000 N·m with NATA certification.
